Description: The Pamela Wallace Papers include the full range of professional correspondence, research files including extensive copies of historical documents, works by Wallace, and a sizeable portion consisting of tapes recording Yuchi language classes, genealogical interviews, and tribal matters. The collection includes over 3,000 images of the social and ceremonial dances of the Yuchi people, consisting of 350 color slides, 1,300 color and black and white photographs with 1,400 color negatives.

Description: The C. F. Voegelin Papers contain correspondence, notes, texts, articles, and other linguistic and ethnographic materials relating to Penobscot language and culture. These are located in both Subcollection I and Subcollection II of the Voegelin Papers. Materials in Subcollection I include correspondence with Frank Siebert (regarding his Penobscot fieldwork, particularly mourning and mortuary customs); 1 box of Ojibwa [Ojibwe], Seneca, and Penobscot notes in Series II. and Penobscot material in Ojibwe Folder #24 in Series VI. Notebooks. In Subcollection II, there is Frank Siebert's "Bumole, The Air Sprite" (a story in Penobscot and in English, sent to Voegelin in 1939) in Series II. Research Notes, Subseries III. Description: The Quechua materials in the Elsie Clews Parsons papers consist of correspondence with Juan Gorrell found in Subcollection I, Series I, "Correspondence", and mulitple sets of notes in photographs in "No. 60. Notes on Peguchi and other South America Tribes" in Subcollection I, Series II, "Notes, manuscripts, etc." Most of these materials pertain to Quechua people in northern Ecuador. Description: The Quinault materials in the ACLS collection consist mainly of two items in the "Quinault" section of the finding aid. One (item S2a.1) is a set of field notebooks recorded by Livingston Farrand that primarily contain stories with interlinear translations, some stories in English only, as well as vocabularies and ethnographic notes. The other item (S2a.2) is a set of vocabulary and grammatical notes recorded by Herman Haeberlin with Quinault speakers Harry Shale of Taholah (on December 28-30, 1916) and Mrs Toby Saux of La Push (on January 2, 1917.) This latter item includes vocabulary for parts of body, natural objects, implements, mammals, fish, reptiles.

Description: A Sachem and Civil War adjutant to Ulysses Grant, Ely Samuel Parker was an important figure in the Seneca Indian nation during the first half of the nineteenth century. Trained as an engineer, Parker was deeply involved in the Senecas' land disputes with the Ogden Land Company and he played an important role in interpreting Seneca culture for a white audience, most notably as a consultant for Lewis Henry Morgan. Collected by Arthur C. Parker, the Ely Samuel Parker Papers include correspondence, manuscripts, and printed materials relating primarily to Seneca affairs, history, language, and culture, as well as politics, education, engineering, and the Civil War. Several letters relate to Parker's service as engineer of public buildings in Galena, Illinois, and to his Masonic activities. Among the noteworthy items in the collection are several essays on Seneca history and culture, a fragment of Parker's diary, 1847, and a significant quantity of material on the Seneca language assembled by Asher Wright. Rich in information on Seneca history, culture, and language and on Parker's varied activities in both the Indian and white worlds, the collection is a major resource for examining the land and political struggles of the Seneca nation during the 1840s and early 1850s. Comprised of a mix of personal and professional correspondence augmented by a smaller quantity of printed materials, notes, and manuscripts, the collection is richest for the period 1845-1860, with only a few letters pertaining to Parker's Civil War service, and even fewer for the post-war period.
