Description: The Coeur d'Alene materials in the ACLS collection consist mainly of 3 items in the "Coeur d'Alene (Schitsu'umsh)" section of the finding aid. One is Reichard's "Coeur d'Alene Indian texts" (item S1g.1) containing 51 texts without translations. Two items (S1g.2 and S1g.3) recorded by James Teit consist of Coeur d'Alene vocabularies, some relating to material culture and religion. In the "Thompson (Nlaka'pamux)" section of the finding aid, Teit's "Field notes on Thompson and neighboring Salish languages" (item S1b.7) includes some Coeur d'Alene information, though the extent is undetermined as these notebooks are very complicated and have not yet been fully indexed. "Suffixes in Thompson, with variants in other Salish languages" (item S1b.12) contains some incidental Coeur d'Alene terms written in.

Description: The Cree materials in the ACLS collection are Plains Cree materials predominantly from Saskatchewan and are located in the "Cree" section of the finding aid. "Plains Cree texts, "Series Two: Syllabary Texts from Sweet Grass Reserve"" (item A1.1) recorded by Harry Achenam of Sweetgrass Reserve (and previously attributed to Leonard Bloomfield), contains 67 unpublished stories written in Cree syllabics. The other primary materials are several items (64-68 and 70) by Edward Ahenakew, written in English, concerning his family's genealogy, methods for tanning leather and building canoes, accounts of medicine practices and conjuring, and stories of little people, Wetikoo (or Wihtigo, Windigo), and other non-human beings. Many of these stories were given by various consultants such as Chief Starblanket of Ahtahkakoop, Jerry Constant, James Moostoos, and Susan Moostoos.

Description: The Ktunaxa materials in the ACLS collection are extensive and concentrated primarily in the "Kutenai" section of the finding aid, which contains a full listing of all contents. The earliest materials in this section linguistic manuscripts by Jesuit missionaries such as Phillippo Canestrelli (item Ku.15) and John Post (item Ku.11), as well as extensive linguistic and anthropological field notes by Alexander Chamberlain (items Ku.9 and Ku.10), all from the 1890s. Subsequently, James Teit's "Traditions and information regarding the Tonaxa" (item Ku.16) from 1913 includes ethnographic and historical information, recorded in part at Tobacco Plains. The most voluminous amount of material overall is that of Franz Boas, recorded in the 1910s, which includes numerous field notebooks, lexical files, and related notes (items Ku.1, Ku.2, Ku.3, Ku.4, Ku.5, Ku.6, Ku.7, Ku.8, and Ku.17). Description: The Quinault materials in the ACLS collection consist mainly of two items in the "Quinault" section of the finding aid. One (item S2a.1) is a set of field notebooks recorded by Livingston Farrand that primarily contain stories with interlinear translations, some stories in English only, as well as vocabularies and ethnographic notes. The other item (S2a.2) is a set of vocabulary and grammatical notes recorded by Herman Haeberlin with Quinault speakers Harry Shale of Taholah (on December 28-30, 1916) and Mrs Toby Saux of La Push (on January 2, 1917.) This latter item includes vocabulary for parts of body, natural objects, implements, mammals, fish, reptiles.

Description: The Secwepemc materials in the ACLS collection consist of materials found in multiple sections of the finding aid. In the "Shuswap (Secwepemc)" section of the finding aid, there are vocabularies recorded by Boas (item S1c.1) and Teit (item S1c.2) which include names of tribes and other information. In the "Thompson" section, Teit's "Salish ethnographic materials" (item 61) includes some Secwepemc notes, as does Teit's notebooks that make up "Field notes on Thompson and neighboring Salish languages" (item S1b.7). (The extent of Secwepemc material in these notebooks is undetermined as the material does not yet have a detailed contents listing.) In the "Chinook Jargon" section of the finding aid, "Indian legends of the North Pacific coast of North America" (item 74) includes some Secwepemc legends. In the "Kutenai" section, there are some Secwepemc stories in Teit's "Folkloristic tales from the Salish area" (item 12). In the "Lillooet" section, Teit's "Lillooet vocabulary" (item S1a.1) includes some comparative Secwepemc words. In the "Salish" section, Teit's "Salish (and Dene) ethnographic notes" (item 60) includes information on Secwepemc artifacts sent to museums, and "Songs from the Salish area" (item S.6) includes notes on 80 songs (some of which are Secwepemc) recorded for and sent to the National Museum of Canada (now the Canadian Museum of History).

Description: The Syilx (Okanagon) materials in the APS collection consists mainly of items in the "Okanagan" section of the finding aid. Boas' "Okanagan materials" (item S1d.1) include vocabulary and texts with interlinear translation, and some corresponding Kalispel forms. Teit's "Vocabulary in Okanagon and related dialects" (item S1d.2) includes forms from Nkaus, Sanpoil, Colville, and Lake dialects, with some parallel forms in Kalispel and Columbia. Rachel Commons' field notes (item S1d.4) include word lists, ethnographic notes (including a map), and some linguistic text. In the "Salish" section of the finding aid, Teit's "Songs from the Salish area" (item S.6) include notes on 80 songs (some of which are Syilx) recorded for and sent to the National Museum of Canada (now the Canadian Museum of History). In this same section, Teit's "Field notes on Thompson and neighboring Salish languages" (item S1b.7) consists of numerous notebooks, which partially include some ethnographic notes on Syilx matters.
