Description: The Wyck Association Collection is a vast and important archive documenting one of Philadelphia's most historic homes over the course of three centuries. This collection contains diaries, letters, accounts, bills and receipts, deeds, and photographs. The collection as a whole is deepest for the period 1770-1970. While a thorough examination of the collection might yield more information about Native American peoples, histories, and cultures, only two such items have been identified. Both are located in Series II. Correspondence. One is a letter from Margaret Wistar Haines to Anthony Morris dated to January 1793 mentioning Indians and the yellow fever epidemic. (Note that Margaret Wister Haines died that year of yellow fever.) The other is correspondence to Hannah Marshall Haines, dated April 1805 to December 1806, mentioning American Indians and Tunisians in Washington, D. C.

Description: The Xinca materials in the ACLS collection consist of one item in the "Xinca" section of the finding aid, recorded by Roland Dixon in 1924 titled "Zoque and Xinca compared with Penutian" (item Mz.1). This has handwritten additions by Edward Sapir. See also "Hokan compared with various Middle and South American languages" (item H.4) by Alfred Kroeber, in the "Hokan" section of the finding aid, which consists of vocabularies of 21 English items with equivalents in Yuman, Hokan, Subtiaba, Xinca, Lenca, Chibcha, Guayom, Chibchan, Zoque, and Mixe, taken from published and unpublished sources.

These predominantly consist of vocabularies, grammatical notes, and other linguistic analyses. All of these were recorded from knowledge given by Ishi, known as the speaker of Yana.
