Description: Two items relating to the Wiyot language have been identified in the C. F. Voegelin Papers. Both are in Subcollection II. Edward Sapir briefly mentions Wiyot kinship terms in the context of his work on Blackfoot in a letter in Series I. Correspondence. More extensively, there are also Wiyot examples in a comparative vocabulary of California tribes (with words from from Hupa, Wiyot, Karuk, Shasta, Achumawi, Atsugewi, Konkow, Yana, Wintu, Maidu, and Modoc) in Series II. Research Notes, Subseries V. Hokan.

Description: The Xinca materials in the ACLS collection consist of one item in the "Xinca" section of the finding aid, recorded by Roland Dixon in 1924 titled "Zoque and Xinca compared with Penutian" (item Mz.1). This has handwritten additions by Edward Sapir. See also "Hokan compared with various Middle and South American languages" (item H.4) by Alfred Kroeber, in the "Hokan" section of the finding aid, which consists of vocabularies of 21 English items with equivalents in Yuman, Hokan, Subtiaba, Xinca, Lenca, Chibcha, Guayom, Chibchan, Zoque, and Mixe, taken from published and unpublished sources.

Description: The Yana materials in the ACLS collection consist of multiple items in the "Yana" section of the finding aid. These predominantly consist of vocabularies, grammatical notes, and other linguistic analyses. Included among them are 25 notebooks recorded by Edward Sapir, with accompanying vocabulary files, along with additional shorter materials by Kroeber, and derivative work by Swadesh. All of these were recorded from knowledge given by Ishi, known as the speaker of Yana.

Description: There are two identified Yuki materials in the ACLS collection. In the "Yuki" section of the finding aid is a "Preliminary report on Yuki tones" (item Yk.1) by Hans Uldall, which includes a discussion of syllable structure, stems, and suffixes and of the behavior of tones with stems and suffixes, plus a list of stem forms. In the "Hokan" section of the finding aid, there are some additional Yuki terms of undetermined extent in the "Hokan-Siouan comparisons" lexical files (item H.3).

Description: The Yurok materials in the ACLS collection consist mainly of two items in the "Yurok" section of the finding aid. One is a single notebook (item A7.2) recorded by Edward Sapir from 1927, which contains vocabularies, paradigms, and texts recorded at the Hupa Reservation. Also in this section, there is an undated short vocabulary (item A7.1) recorded by Freeland and de Angulo from speaker Robert Nat from Lower Klamath River. In the "Algonkian" section are two short items (A.1 and A.2) discussing Wiyot-Yurok classification, and in notebooks (item U.5) in the "Southern Paiute" section is a note on kinship terms.
