Description: Ahtna songs and stories recorded in 1968 by Frederica de Laguna at Copper Center, with additional ones also recorded at Cantwell, Chistochina, Gulkana, and Upper Tanana material recorded at Tetlin. Includes dance songs, sorry songs, potlatch songs, sleep doctor songs, and others. Includes "Gulkana Potlatch Given by Bill Joe and Kate Sanford for Recovery of Maggie Joe from Illness." Some songs are Tlingit, Upper Tanana, or Tanacross in origin. Includes Ahtna stories, autobiographical accounts, vocabularies, and interviews, as well as a few Southern Tutchone songs recorded at Burwash Landing, Yukon Territory. Also includes Tetlin potlatch songs recorded in 1966.

Description: The Gwich'in materials in the ACLS collection consist of 5 notebooks, containing extensive elicited words and phrases and several stories recorded as interlinear texts. These notebooks are located in the "Gwich'in" section of the finding aid, catalogued as item Na.8, "Gwich'in notebooks, Fort Yukon dialect". They were recorded with the speaker John Fredson of Fort Yukon, Alaska, who Sapir met while Fredson was working at Camp Red Cloud in Pennsylvania in the summer of 1923.

Description: The Unangan and Unangas materials in ACLS collection are located in the "Aleut" section of the finding aid and primarily consist of "Aleut texts" (item E2.1), recorded by Jochelson at Attu and Unalaska. These are untranslated, except for three, which have interlinear translation and notes. Also in this section is "Essay on the grammar of the Aleut language" (item E2.2) with Boas's corrections, and "Aleut Folklore" (item 69), an ethnography of the Unangan by an unidentified author, likely a student of Boas, based on study made of the Aleut texts of Vladimir Jochelson. Comparative folklore and abstracts of Aleut tales are included. In the "Yup'ik" section of the finding aid, also see Swadesh's "Unaaliq Eskimo vocabulary file" (item E1b.200), which contains comparisons with Aleut languages.
