In the "Mexico" section of the finding aid, McQuown's "Phonemic systems of various Indian languages of Mexico" (item AM3) includes some Mazatec vocabulary, as does "Comparative vocabularies of various Indian languages of Mexico" (item AM5). In the "Zapotec" section, "Estudio gramatical de las lenguas de la familia zapoteca" (item Z.1) includes analysis of Mazatec, proposing its inclusion in the Zapotecan language family.
