Draft of a letter of thanks to New York senator Nathan Bristol "for the promptness with which the Assembly Bill for the survey of the Onondagas' Indian lands was repudiated." The survey was to be made for the purpose of apportioning the land to individual Indians, "thereby destroying that bond of common interest which unites and holds Indian communities together."
