Description: The Oneida materials in the Lounsbury Papers include photographs in Series I. Series II contains plays and songs from the WPA Oneida Language Project and the Workers Alliance of the Oneida Indian Council. Also of interest are an Oneida dictionary by Mercy Doxtator, et al., a field notebook by Martin Joos, and Lounsbury's work on an Oneida dictionary. There are an abundance of recordings in Series VII including "Dekanawidah" as told by Demus Elm; the "opening" of the Thanksgiving address; sixteen conversations in Oneida; music. Description: The Onondaga materials in the Lounsbury collection include a French-Onondaga from 1860 in Series II. There are numerous audio recordings including that of a Condolence Ceremony and the Feast of the White Dog (Guy-wee-oo) in Series VII. (These recordings are restricted due to cultural sensitivity.) The correspondence, in Series I, includes Harold Blau's mention of a recording in Onondaga of part of Handsome Lake's code, William Fenton's work with Howard Sky on the Goldenweiser version of the Great Law of Peace in Onondaga, Michael Foster's description of collecting versions of the Thanksgiving Address in Onondaga, Cara Richards on Onondaga recordings.

Description: Materials prepared by French Sulpician missionaries in New France in the French and Onondaga languages. Items include an undated French-Onondaga dictionary attributed to Magon de Terlaye, and an unattributed list of members of "Les trois confrairies de la Ste. Famille du Sault de St. Regis," an Indian women's religious society, dated to 1821-1865. The latter also includes members' date of joining and describes their duties; prayers and rules of conduct for the group are written in Onondaga. Originals in Seminaire de Montreal, les Pretres de Saint-Sulpice.

Description: The Otomi materials in the ACLS collection consist of materials mainly in the "Otomi" section of the finding aid. Key items includes Radin's "Grammatical sketch of Otomi" (item OtO.1) and "Otomi-English dictionary" (item OtO.2), based upon the Toluca dialect (Temoaya Otomi). Also in this section are the "Sintesis de la discusion en el consejo de lenguas indigenas sobre el alfabeto Otomi" (item OtO.3) and a brief vocabulary by Sapir (item OtO.4). Includes a petit catechisme, a literal, page-by-page translation into Ottawa of the "Catechisme des fetes principales de l'annee publie a Chartres par Etienne Massot le Jeune en 1683"; and "Racines de la langue 8ta8aise et algonquine," A to S only. The last 56 pages of the latter contain "Instructions sur les exhortations relatives aux commandements" while the cover reads "Instruction sur les symboles." Description: The Patwin materials in the ACLS collection consist of 4 items in the "Patwin" section of the finding aid. Jaime de Angulo's "The Patwin language" (item P4b.1-4) consists of analyses phonology and morphology; semasiology (semantically arranged vocabularies), conversation, and autobiography, all relating to the Colusa dialect. Three items by Radin include a Patwin-English dictionary (item P4b.5), a set of ethnographic and folkloristic stories (item P4b.6-7), and a sketch of Patwin grammar (item P4b.8).

Description: The Patwin materials in the Harvey Pitkin Papers include notebooks, notes, vocabularies, slip files, texts, manuscripts and tracings by A.M. Halpern, Paul Radin, A.L. Kroeber, T.T. Waterman, Donald Ultan, and Howard Wilson, along with pencil sketches by Patwin people in Subcollection I, Series I, Series I-A. There are two dictionaries, by Paul Radin and Donald Ultan in Subcollection I, Series I, Series I-B. Series I-C contains linguistic materials collected by Jaime de Angulo, Kroeber, and Waterman. Series I-D contains Pitkin's work with using a krmograph to create phonetic tracings. Subcollection I, Series II-A includes linguistic work done by Elizabeth Bright, Waterman. Subseries 4-C in Subcollection II includes fieldwork done by Pitkin comparing Patin to Wintu and Nomlaki as well as FIeld notes by Morris Swadesh, nineteen unpublished Vocabularies collected by Pitkin, Jaime de Angulo, Mary Haas, Sally McLendon, Mary Bright, Donald Ultan, and Radin. Subseries 5 contains an index to Radin's work on Patwin as well as Pitkin's work on Proto-Wintu and William Bright's worker wtih the speaker Minnie Bill.
