Description: Mary Haas' Makah file appears to be mostly derived from work by William Jacobsen, who frequently assisted Haas with developing her collection throughout her life. These include correspondence (Series 1 and 2) and parts of lexica, often compared with Ditidaht and Nuu-chah-nulth especially. The largest lexicon is in Series 9, from work by Leo Frachtenberg and Morris Swadesh, at around 1000 slips.

Description: William Bright spent a “Salinan weekend” in Nipomo and Jolon, California, with Bill Jacobsen in 1954, discussed in correspondence with Nancy Evans alongside an original photograph of Dave Mora (Series 1). As a result of this and possibly other field trips, his Salinan materials consist of later correspondence with Bill Jacobsen (Series 1) and part of a field notebook with Joe Mora at Lockwood, California (Series 3 Subseries 1).

Description: One item relating to the Washo language has been identified in the C. F. Voegelin Papers. It is in Subcollection II, and consists of a folder of William H. Jacobsen's Washo materials in Series II. Research Notes, Subseries V. Hokan. These materials include a mimeograph of a typewritten phoneme inventory, noun and verb stems, and references, and was sent to Voegelin (and other "Hokanists") by Jacobsen in October 1969.
